Provide English Instruction via the Internet to Foreign Students

Idapted is a respected, international company that provides one on one English instruction, live over the Internet, to students around the world, helping them improve their speaking and listening skills.   The majority of the students are young professionals and employees of foreign companies, many of whom want to one day live and or work in the U.S., Britain or Canada.   Idapted is currently in search of instructors to join their team.

The good news is that instructors do not have to speak a language other than English.  All instruction takes place in English and consists of guiding students through a series of exercises designed to help them practice their spoken English.  Many of these students will never have had the opportunity to speak with a native English speaker before, but the majority have a working knowledge of English as taught in general education institutions.   Teaching experience is helpful when applying as an instructor, but it is not required.  All instructors work from home, are hired on a contractor basis and may work as many hours as they choose (although at least one 30 minutes session per 30 days is required).

Applying as an instructor is a three-step process.  The first step is the application itself, which includes a typing test and a voice interview via phone.  If your application passes review, you will begin the certification process; this involves six interaction modules within a 7-day period.  After the modules comes a "qualifying interaction" with a student.  If you pass this test, then you are ready to work.

Anyone age 18 or older from the 48 contiguous states may apply (those in Hawaii and Alaska may not apply because of time zone issues), but the company is looking for people who are comfortable dealing with foreign cultures, are tolerant of different view points, are professional and have high ethical standards, are patient and listen well, feel comfortable giving constructive criticism (and receiving it) and have a good working knowledge of English grammar and a strong vocabulary.

There are no fees to apply with Idapted, and all training is free.  Go to www.idapted.com to find out more about the company, and to http://www.idapted.com/opportunities/overview.html for more information about becoming an instructor.
