Inbox Dollars

Read Emails and Take Surveys for Income

There are many, many online companies advertising that they will pay you to read emails and/or take online surveys.  Read five emails and earn $50!   Participate in a survey and win $100!   The majority of these companies and/or websites are scams and not worth your time or effort.  There are, though, some companies that actually do pay you to read emails and take surveys.  This is not a way to make a lot of money but it can be a fun way to pick up a little extra cash here and there.

Inbox Dollars is a clean, easy to read website that we can recommend as a way to earn a little extra pocket money.  Once you register (they'll give you $5 just for doing that), you will see lots of offers to try, games to play and surveys to take for anywhere from $.50 to $15.

The Cash Offers section pays the best but often requires you to purchase a product on a trial basis; if you cancel the product before the trial ends, then your credit card will not be charged for the full amount, and you can make a little bit of a profit.  This can be a bit risky, though, if you are not terribly organized and do not take good notes about what you purchased and when you purchased it (make sure you read the terms and conditions carefully for each offer you complete).

There is a 100% Free section of the Cash Offers, too, which has offers that do not require you to buy anything. These pay between $.50 and $3 and generally ask you to fill out a form to receive information, which may come in the mail or via email (we recommend setting up a free "junk" email address with Yahoo or Hotmail for these kinds of offers so that your main email box is not filled with spam).

The Surveys section pays $.50 for every survey you complete, and there are new surveys everyday.  Keep in mind that you may not qualify for all surveys, and if you "speed through" them or give false information, Inbox Dollars will stop letting you take surveys.  Receiving credit for completing a survey takes about 1 to 2 days since Inbox Dollars has to hear from the advertiser who is providing the survey.  Surveys can take between 5 minutes and 20 minutes to complete.

Inbox Dollars will also send you three to five emails a day to read.  If you open them and click on the confirmation link, you will receive between $.02 to $.05 per email.  This is necessary to keep your account active so that you receive payment for the work you have done.

To receive payment, your account has to reach a minimum of $30, and you have to request a check.  The company does not make direct deposits or send payment via Paypal.  A drawback to Inbox Dollars is that they pay net 30, meaning that if you request payment in June, you will not receive a check until August (and they charge a $3 servicing fee per check).   The company, though, has a good reputation for making payments, but you do have to keep your account active.

This kind of work is not for everyone; it can be a little tedious filling out surveys and signing up for offers, but it's mindless work that can be done while babysitting the grandkids or watching TV and can bring in a little extra cash each month.
