Non-English Speakers Learn English
English1on1 is a company that helps non-English speakers learn
to speak English by speaking with and listening to native English
speakers. Using the Internet, the company connects
students from around the world to English tutors here in the U.S.,
and the company is currently looking for at-home tutors whose
first language is English and who can speak well without an
accent.
From the English1on1 website:
"Because our program is online and you will be working on
the internet at home, we ask that you have a reliable computer and
high speed internet for personal use. We will conduct an equipment
test with you to let you know if your equipment meets our
standards.
To become an English1on1 tutor, you must attend an orientation
session conducted online to learn about our program and how to
speak with students. After you have applied and been accepted, we
will contact you with details for the next available orientation
session.
Each English1on1 tutoring session with a student lasts 30
minutes, and you will be paid $10 for each hour worked. We require
that all of our tutors each work between 5 and 40 hours a week.
Because most of our students currently reside in China and there
is a 12-hour time difference, our tutoring hours are currently
6-12 Eastern Time in the morning and 6-12 Eastern Time in the
evening."
