several purposes. It is a place where you can go to buy a
t-shirt or a mug or a card or other gift, and, using
print-on-demand technology, have it personalized with a design you
upload.

products and lets you upload images/designs to place on
them. You then set up a free, one-page, 80-product
online store (or pay $6.95 per month for a premium shop) where you
sell these products emblazoned with your artwork. The
website maintains the inventory - you are only placing your design
on this inventory (mugs, caps, sweatshirts, frames,
etc.). CafePress sets the base price of the items you
sell - you mark up the price and keep the difference between the
base price and your sales price. Buyers pay for the
shipping, and CafePress ships the items to your customers.
They also take care of all payment processing, exchanges and
customer service. You do not have to pay for the product
inventory, and CafePress pays you once a month for sales you made
two months previous. It really is a simple way to do
business.
You can even sell your own books on the
site. CafePress sets the base price, prints each book
as it is ordered and ships the books to your customers. You
keep the difference between the base price and your mark up price.
